why i love My Girlfriend's Boyfriend

when people ask me what my favorite movie is, i can reply instantly (and get a few odd looks from eavesdroppers):

My Girlfriend's Boyfriend.

it has alyssa milano and christopher gorham. it has a witty, beautiful, quirky female lead, and a sensitive but strong male lead - WHO IS A WRITER.


i can't say much without spoiling the ending of the movie (uh... yeah. at some point it's confusing and then you're like OH! how did i not catch that?!) but it's a wonderful movie. with an amazing plot. i'm betting many would qualify it as a chick flick (i might have cried my eyes out the first time i watched it. i mean, i downright sobbed) but it really isn't. there's more to it, and actually fairly realistic (to me).


so here's a list for why My Girlfriend's Boyfriend is my favorite movie of all time (and why you should watch it):

1. christopher gorham and michael landes play the male leads, ethan and troy. who are both brilliant, sweet writers (but ethan is a down on his luck novel writer and troy is a very lucky ad writer).
2. jesse (played by alyssa milano) is a totally lovely and so relatable girl who is a tad bit unlucky in love. she's vulnerable and strong.
3. the movie isn't a typical romantic comedy. it's not laced with racy sex (it's actually rated PG) and is simply really sweet. not unbearably so, but heartwarming.

 

 4. the date scene at the baseball field. enough said.

5. downright AMAZING soundtrack. lovelovelove.
6. the twist at the end (which i refuse to give away).

so you should watch it. so amazing.
