Now Playing: Half of My Heart - John Mayer and Taylor Swift
Now Drinking - Arizona Sweet Tea
Needless to say, I had a loooong week.
Very long.
And, when I say I'm glad tomorrow is Friday?
I'm really saying "OHTHANKGODTHISWEEKISALMOSTOVER
ICANNOTTTAKEANYMORE!!!!"
Sooo...
Yeah.
Last weekend, I was at Dad's again, after spending all of Spring Break with him, because I didn't want to
screw up the schedule,
because I really want to be able to do the Autism Awareness walk for my stepbrother on April 24th.
(Plus I might actually get to see my friends again!)
I'm actually starting to like spending time over at Dad's house.
Yeah, be scared. Be very scared.
But I'm not having to pull off the perfect princess act as much anymore over there -- just when the Damms are over.
BTW, that's pronounced "D-aaaah-mmmms," not "Damns." A lot of people make that mistake.
And even when they are over, or we're over at their place, I
don't have to act. E and A already know that I'm not a perfect angel.
(E being their 11 year old daughter, and A being their 15 year old son.)
Now here's an even scarier thought than me not having a problem with spending extended periods of time at Dad's.
I'm actually getting along with A, and have started to think of him as a friend.
I know. Holy shiz, right?
This is coming from the girl who banned Marco Pollo at her pool because of him.
Aaaack.
I need Lei-Lei to talk some sense into me.
Anyhoooo...
As we do every weekend when we hang out at Dad's place,
E and I got Dad to hook up the PA system in the basement so we could rock out and sing to music on our iPods.
I have so much fun doing that.
And E is such a little darling cheerleader. *affectionate smile*
We had a bunch of fun, and played around with A on the Wii afterward, while the adults played euchre.
They don't let me play euchre with them anymore.
They're sore losers. =P
But the next day, I didn't get up until eleven,
didn't eat anything until one,
and felt like total crap.
Sweet Judy tried to take care of me while watching after Sean at the same time.
I love my stepmom.
Dad actually took me to Tim Horton's and let me get a doughnut to get me to eat.
That's how crappy I was feeling.
But that was after me getting my books (the "Chicks with Sticks" trilogy by Elizabeth Lenhard) and having a major dizzy spell.
He is such a worry wart.
I ended up going back out with Judy and Sean (the aforementioned autistic stepbrother) because
trying to concentrate on Romeo and Juliet was making me feel even worse.
Judy, being the sweetheart and pushover she is, bought me Milk Duds.
Again, I love my stepmom.
Honestly, the rest of the week up until today was filled with
struggles with R&J and Modern World Studies, bunches of schoolwork, reading, and yarn.
Those books made me want to pick up my yarn again.
Sunday or Monday night, I believe it was, I stayed up until 3 or 4 in the morning, reading and knitting.
At the same time.
Yeah, be jealous.
I can even knit and read while riding in a car.
Psha.
But, I have a certain stripey scarf nearly halfway done,
and it could be considered more than that, except for the fact it's going to be a very long scarf.
Ahhhh, silk and bamboo yarn...
Yum.
And I have found that I don't like using knitting needles unless they're made out of bamboo.
OCD?
Maybe.
Better for the environment (at least, compared to plastic)?
Yes.
But tooooday, today I got more yarn.
I never knew yarn was *that* heavy.
Like, dang.
But I got two shades of brown wool for a super warm and wide scarf, gray, plum, and a mix between lime and sage green (really bad comparison, but it's cute!) super soft yarn that is a mix of bamboo and something else, three more of that same yarn only in soft brown for Mom's scarf, a super soft cotton yarn that is a different sagey green that shall be made into a hat and... I think there might be more, but I can't exactly remember right now.
Ohhhh...
And new knitting needles.
More bamboo ones, of course ;)
This was all after going to a not-so-awful ice cream social (at a fricking WENDY'S!!) for school.
I have to go to another one tomorrow.
*headdesk*
Buuuuuuuuuuttttttttttt....
I posted a pattern for a headband over on Asheyna's crafty blog, too. It probably hasn't made it through review yet, but it'll be there soon! Yeah, like anybody that actually reads my blog will actually care about that...
Oh, and Leila?
I'm coming after you with knitting needles at our next sleepover.
Got it, chica?
You will learn the magic of the yarn.
Lurve yew.
Sooo, I gotta finish up leftover schoolwork from today.
Later lovelies!
